Appeal following fatal collision in Sidcup

At about 18:30hrs on Wednesday, 29 June, officers on patrol came upon an injured motorcycle rider on North Cray Road.

The officers immediately provided first aid. The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance Service attended but despite their efforts, the rider – a man believed to be aged in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

At this early stage, it is not believed that any other vehicles were involved and that the motorcycle may have collided with a traffic island.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Catford are investigating this matter.
