Appeal following fatal collision in Southwark

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating a fatal collision in Southwark.

Officers were called to Peckham High Street at 12:25hrs on Wednesday, 9 January following a collision involving an HGV and a pedestrian. 

A 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of medics from London’s Air Ambulance. Next of kin have been informed.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses, people with mobile phone footage or dash cam footage to come forward, as it will help them determine the sequence of events which led to the man losing his life.

The road reopened around 19:00hrs.

The HGV driver has not been arrested and is assisting with enquiries.
