Appeal following fatal collision in Tower Hamlets

Detectives are seeking witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal collision in Tower Hamlets.

Police were called at about 17:20hrs on Thursday, 14 September after a motorcyclist collided with the central reservation on Aspen Way E14, near Canary Wharf.

Members of the public, including an off-duty Met officer, administered CPR prior to the arrival of emergency services. Despite their best efforts, the 51-year-old man died at the scene.

Officers have informed his next of kin but await formal identification.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are working to establish what happened in the moments leading up to and at the time of the collision.
