Appeal following serious collision in Tower Hamlets

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in east London.

Police were called at approximately 19:30hrs on Wednesday, 12 May to Mile End Road, at the junction with Stayners Road, following reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a pedestrian.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. At the scene the pedestrian, a 52-year-old man, had suffered serious injuries. He was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition. His family has been informed.

The rider of the motorcycle stopped at the scene and enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision.

There have been no arrests.
