Appeal following serious road traffic collision in Shoreditch

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured in a road traffic collision in Shoreditch.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has footage of the incident.

Detective Sergeant Jose Qureshi, of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: “The collision took place at a busy time of day in a heavy footfall area. I am confident that someone saw the incident take place and urge those people to come forward and help us to know the circumstances surrounding the collision.”

Police were called by London Ambulance Service at around 19:00hrs on Saturday, 30 June to reports of a collision at Shoreditch High Street.

At the scene a Route 205 bus had been in collision with a 33-year-old woman.

The driver of the bus stopped at the scene and is assisting officers.

The injured woman was taken to an east London hospital where her injuries are potentially life changing. We await an update on her condition. Her husband is with her at the hospital.

Officers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Chadwell Heath investigate.

No arrests. Enquiries continue.
