Appeal for information after man shot in Dagenham

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a shooting in east London.

Police were called shortly after 04:00hrs on Tuesday, 6 October to reports of gunshots heard on Reede Road in Dagenham.

Officers, including firearms officers, attended. A man and a woman were found injured.

The 39-year-old man suffered a gunshot injury. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The 32-year-old woman was also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries. We await details regarding the nature of these injuries.

Trident detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating and are working closely with their colleagues on the East Area Borough Command Unit.

They would like to speak with anyone who has information regarding the shooting or who saw anything suspicious.

A crime scene remains in place. There will be an enhanced police presence in the area.

At this early stage, there have been no arrests.
