Appeal for witnesses after moped rider dies following collision with tree in Dulwich

Police are appealing for witnesses and any drivers who may have dashcam footage following a fatal collision involving a moped in Dulwich.

Officers were called at approximately 21:15hrs on Monday, 20 July to East Dulwich Grove, SE22, following reports of a collision.

A moped, travelling towards Thorncombe Road, had collided with a tree. The rider, a 22-year-old man, died at the scene. His family have been informed.

It is yet to be confirmed if any other vehicles were involved.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating. They are particularly keen to hear from any drivers who were in East Dulwich Grove from 21.00 hours onwards and who may have recorded the events leading up to the collision on dashcam.

Any witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call the SCIU at Catford Traffic Garage on 020 8285 1574 quoting CAD 7891/19July.
