Detectives are appealing for information following an attempted rape in Newham last month.

Police were called at around 01:30hrs on Monday, 22 April to a report of a sexual assault on Redclyffe Road, going into William Morley Close, E6.

It is believed that the woman, aged in her 30s, was walking home shortly after 21:00hrs on Sunday, 21 April when she was approached from behind by a man.

He then grabbed her on the arm, pushed her to the floor and sexually assaulted her.

Two men walking past shouted at the suspect who then fled the scene on foot.

Officers have been unable to trace the two witnesses who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

They are described as two Asian men believed to be between 18 and 25 years old.
