Appeal for witnesses to assault in Hillingdon

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after an assault in Uxbridge.

Police were called to Vine Lane at approximately 18:15hrs on Wednesday, 27 January following reports of a fight.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended. A 52-year-old man was treated at the scene by medics before being taken to a London hospital. He remains in a critical condition.

A 51-year-old man [A] was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He was taken into custody before being interviewed and released on bail to a date in late February.

Detective Constable Benazir Bhati, from West Area Command CID, said: “We are appealing to the public for more details about this incident. I urge anyone who witnessed the assault, or who has information, and in particular mobile phone footage, to come forward and speak with police if they have not already done so.”
