Appeal to identify man following stabbing in Lewisham

Detectives have released CCTV footage of a man they want to trace following a stabbing in Lewisham.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 12:10hrs on Friday, 28 October to reports of a fight and an injured man at Parkside Avenue, off Lewisham Road, SE10.

Officers attended, but the injured man had already left the scene in a car. The car stopped at High Road in Lewisham where a passing paramedic was flagged down.

The injured man, aged 18, who was suffering from knife injuries, was taken to hospital where his condition was later assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

Police have issued footage of a man they are keen to trace.

Detective Constable Victor Iyalla, said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who might have seen this man running in the direction of Parkside Square.

“The attack took place in broad daylight and left the victim critically ill in hospital for some time.

“Violence on our streets cannot be tolerated. If you have information that could help us identify this man, I urge you to contact us immediately.”
