A detective sergeant has been dismissed without notice after a misconduct hearing heard he had committed gross misconduct.
A hearing was held in the case of DS Jaimie Dick, of Specialist Crime, on 29 May, chaired by Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball.
The hearing heard that on 27 November, 2019 DS Dick was convicted at Hastings Magistrates Court of driving a motor vehicle on a road whilst under the influence of alcohol, contrary to Section 5 Road Traffic Act 1988. He was subsequently banned from driving for 20 months and fined £670.
Having taken all this into consideration, AC Ball found that the officer had committed gross misconduct in relation to all allegations under the Professional Standards of Behaviour for discreditable conduct.
