A police officer has been charged with multiple theft and fraud offences.
PC Robert Ward, attached to Enfield borough, was charged on Monday, 18 June via postal summons for the following offences:
- Three counts of theft (counts one, five and six) – relates to offences committed in January 2017, September 2016 and May 2017 respectively, where cash was stolen from Edmonton Police Station.
- Two counts of fraud by false representation (counts two and four) – relates to offences committed in January and February 2017.
- Fraud by false representation (count three) – relates to an offence committed between October 2015 and October 2017.
He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 16 July.
He was first arrested on 19 October 2017, and suspended with immediate effect.
