Fatal collision in Cricklewood

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in Cricklewood.

Officers were called at 09:08hrs on Saturday, 7 December to reports of a car in collision with a lamp post on Dollis Hill Lane at the junction with Brook Road, NW2.

The car caught fire following the collision.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended. Two people were recovered from the vehicle.

The male driver, believed aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene at 09:21hrs.

Next of kin have been informed.

The passenger – a male (no further details) - was taken to a central London hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

At this stage it is not thought any other vehicles were involved in the collision.
