Allegations against a former police constable fined for driving offences were proven as gross misconduct.

Former PC Caroline Silverman, who was based at East Area Basic Command Unit (EA BCU), answered to allegations that her conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘discreditable conduct’ at a misconduct hearing held on Wednesday, 19 September.

This related to the former officer pleading guilty to driving a motor vehicle on a road with no insurance, and driving a motor vehicle on a road without a test certificate at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on 12 December 2017. She was fined £120, and told to pay additional costs.

At the hearing, the finding of gross misconduct was recorded. As she is no longer a serving officer, no additional sanction was imposed.
