Detectives from Haringey have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to trace in connection with a violent robbery.

Police were called on the evening of Friday, 18 May, to a report of a man robbed and assaulted in Markfield Recreation Ground in Tottenham.

The 26-year-old victim had got off a train at Tottenham Hale and was walking through the recreation ground at around 20:20hrs that evening when he was hit with an object from behind, sustaining a serious head injury. His phone, wallet, bank cards and a silver neck chain were stolen.

The man managed to walk home, from where police and London Ambulance Service were called. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for head injuries and discharged.

Detective Constable Mark Nicholls from Haringey CID is investigating. They have released an image of a man they wish to speak with in connection with the investigation, caught on CCTV at a local shop.

Anyone who can identify the man, or who has information that may assist the investigation, is asked to call Haringey CID via 101 quoting reference 8312/18may.
