Officers from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command have been granted a second warrant of further detention for a man they arrested on Friday, 7 August.
The new warrant of further detention expires on Tuesday, 18 August.
On Friday, 7 August, officers from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command arrested a 29-year-old man at an address in north-east London on suspicion of being involved with the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
No armed officers were present at the arrest.
The man was taken to a south London police station, where he remains in custody.
Officers also searched the address in north-east London.
On Saturday, 8 August, detectives obtained the first warrant of further detention at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, which allowed them to detain the man in custody until Friday, 14 August.
