A man charged with dissemination of terrorist material has appeared in court.
On 7 April, Shehroz Iqbal, 29 (16.10.1990) of east London was charged with one count of dissemination of terrorist material, contrary to section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Iqbal was remanded to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, today Wednesday, 8 April and is now scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 7 May. He remains in custody.
A search of an address in east London has been completed.
Detectives from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command arrested a 29-year-old man on Monday, 6 April on suspicion of dissemination of terrorist material, contrary to the Terrorism Act 2006.
They arrested the man under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act at an east London police station at approximately 17.00hrs. He was detained in custody at a police station and charged as above.
