Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Lewisham have charged a man with her murder.
Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, 16 June, officers attended a residential address in Cressingham Road, SE13.
They found a 53-year-old woman who was unresponsive. First aid was provided and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended but despite the best efforts of the emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A formal identification is yet to take place but officers are confident that the deceased is Marlene Coleman. Her next of kin have been informed.
Franklin Mcleod, 54 (09.02.67) of Cressingham Road, SE13 was arrested in the early hours of Thursday, 17 June.
He was charged with murder on Saturday, 19 June and appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 21 June and was remanded in custody.
He was due to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 23 June.
