Man charged with the murder of his wife, Balham

A man has been charged with the murder of his wife after her body was found at an address in Balham on 12 November.

Naseer Khan, 66, (01.01.52) of Lavenham road, SW18, was charged with the murder of 62-year-old Tanseen Sheikh (04.02.56) of Balham Park road, SW12, on 14 November.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on 14 November.

A post-mortem examination was conducted on 13 November at St George’s hospital and gave the cause of death as multiple injuries; further tests await.

Police were called at approximately 23:40hrs on Monday, 12 November, to reports of a woman deceased at an address on Balham Park Road, SW12.

Officers attended along with colleagues from the London Ambulance Service, who confirmed the woman to be deceased.

Khan was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene.

While formal identification awaits, officers are confident that the deceased is 62-year-old Tanseen Sheikh, of Balham Park road, SW12.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
