An officer has been cleared of gross misconduct and misconduct following the conclusion of a hearing on Wednesday, 4 March.

PC Patrick Carragher based on the Central South Command Unit faced allegations that his conduct amounted to breaches of standards of professional behaviour in respect of:

- honesty and integrity;
- orders and instructions;
- duties and responsibilities.

It was alleged that on 5 October 2017 in the Old Kent Road area, PC Carragher conducted an unauthorised pursuit, failed to report a police collision and later completed a collision report but omitted information from it.

He was also accused of provided misleading information to an injured party and his supervisors.

The panel at the hearing, chaired by a legally qualified chair, found none of the allegations proven as either misconduct or gross misconduct.
