Officer dismissed following misconduct hearing

A misconduct hearing for a serving officer concluded on Friday, 11 October.

DC Dean Sliney, attached to the North Area Command Unit, was found to have breached the Standard of Professional Behaviour in relation to Discreditable Conduct. The breach was found to amount to gross misconduct and DC Sliney was dismissed without notice.

It is alleged that DC Sliney was involved in an altercation with his ex-partner at her home address where he damaged a chain attached to her door. He was found guilty of criminal damage and given a conditional discharge for 12 months, ordered to pay costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £20.

The breach was found to amount to gross misconduct and DC Sliney was dismissed without notice.
