A Metropolitan Police Service detective constable has been dismissed without notice following the conclusion of a Special Case Hearing.
DC Debra Mackrell, who was attached to the Central East Command Unit, was found to have breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct.
It was concluded that this breach amounted to gross misconduct.
On Tuesday, 24 September 2019, at Inner London Crown Court, DC Mackrell was found guilty of harassment.
On Wednesday, 4 December she was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge and issued with a restraining order.
She was found not guilty of stalking following the trial which began on Monday, 16 September.
T/DC Mackrell was arrested in June 2017, and charged via postal requisition in December 2018.
The allegations were made between October 2016 and March 2019, and relate to one male victim.
