A Special Case Hearing was held on 30 April in respect of PC Hitesh Lakhani of the Met’s Central West BCU.
Hitesh Lakhani had been found guilty on 10 December 2019 at Kingston Crown Court of perverting the course of justice as the result of submitting a false report to police. He was sentenced on 10 January to three years’ imprisonment.
The court heard that on 5 September 2018, while off duty, PC Lakhani called police to say a child had been sexually assaulted in Uxbridge. An investigation began, however no related allegations were identified and analysis of CCTV showed the alleged offence did not happen. PC Lakhani was suspended from duties.
The Special Case Hearing found PC Lakhani to have breached the standards of professional behaviour. He was dismissed without notice.
