Officers recover stolen bikes during raid in Bow

Officers from the Met's Territorial Support Group (TSG) have recovered 20 stolen bikes following a raid in east London.

Police executed a warrant at a commercial property in Wick Lane, E3, at approximately 05:00hrs on Wednesday, 27 October. Along with the bikes, £50,000 was also recovered.

It followed intelligence to suggest that stolen bikes were being stored at the premises before being sold online.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. He was taken to an east London police station and was subsequently released under investigation.

Sergeant Robert Aston, from the TSG Proactive and Wanted Offender Unit, said: “We will never tolerate theft in London and we are glad to have recovered these stolen bikes.

“We’d like to return as many bikes and parts as possible to their owners so please get in contact with us if you have had your bike stolen and recognise them in the images.”

If you recognise any of the bikes in the images you are encouraged to contact 101 quoting CAD 930/27Oct.

Alternatively, email MO7mailbox-.proactiveunit@met.police.uk. You will be asked to provide proof of purchase.
