Serving officer convicted of harassment

A serving Metropolitan Police Service officer has been found guilty of harassment.

Trainee Detective Constable Debra Mackrell, attached to Central East Command Unit, was found guilty of one count of harassment on Tuesday, 24 September after a trial at Inner London Crown Court which started on Monday, 16 September.

She has been conditionally bailed to be sentenced at the same court on Monday, 21 October.

She was found not guilty of stalking.

The offences were committed between October 2016 and March 2019, and relate to one male victim.

She was arrested in June 2017, and charged via postal requisition in December 2018.

T/DC Mackrell is currently on restricted duties. This will now be reviewed.
