A police constable has been dismissed for gross misconduct.

At a misconduct hearing on Wednesday, 3 February, it was found that PC Jordan Bignall, attached to the Central South Basic Command Unit, had breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of fitness for duty and discreditable conduct.

It was found that on 3 July 2020, PC Bignall failed to ensure he was fit to carry out his responsibilities and behaved in a manner which brought discredit on the police service after knowingly ingesting amphetamine.

He was dismissed without notice from the Metropolitan Police Service.
