Serving officer to appear in court charged with rape

A serving Metropolitan Police officer will appear in court charged with rape.

PC Samuel McGregor, age 29, attached to the Central North Command Unit is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 26 May, charged with one count of rape.

He was charged by postal requisition.

This relates to an incident on 11 May 2021.

A woman, who is known to PC McGregor, reported the incident to police on 3 June 2021 – she continues to be supported by specially trained officers.

PC McGregor was arrested the day after on 4 June 2021 and an investigation was undertaken.

The officer is suspended.
