A special police constable has been dismissed without notice following a conviction in June.

A special case hearing was held on Thursday, 26 September for Special Police Constable Zara Idrak, based at West Area Command Unit, to answer allegations that her conduct amounted to a breach of the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct and honesty and integrity.

On 17 June 2019 at East Berkshire Magistrates’ Court, SPC Idrak was convicted of the following three offences:

1. Driving otherwise in accordance with her driving licence;
2. Driving without third party motor vehicle insurance;
3. Obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty.

In respect of offence one, SPC Idrak’s driving licence was endorsed but no penalty points given.

In respect of offence two, SPC Idrak’s driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points. She was also fined £300, required to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and Crown Prosecution Service costs of £85.

In respect of offence three, SPC Idrak was fined £100.

The hearing carefully considered all of the evidence available and concluded that SPC Idrak had breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of honesty and integrity and discreditable conduct and that those breaches amounted to gross misconduct.

She was dismissed without notice.
