Three sought after man left with life-changing injuries following aggravated burglary in Carshalton
Officers investigating a burglary in south London which left a man with life-changing injuries are releasing images of four people they would like to speak to.
At around 00:30hrs on Saturday, 14 August, the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was with friends inside a residential property in William Street, Carshalton, when four men entered and demand money.
Two of the men were armed with a knife and another with a bottle containing a noxious liquid. The liquid was sprayed into the victim's eyes, causing him to be left with limited vision in one of his eyes.
The group stole approximately £12,000 from a safe at the property before leaving the scene. The incident was reported to police later the same day and officers begun an investigation, which included recovering CCTV from the area.
PC Scott Springall, from the local policing team in south London, said: "This incident had had a huge impact on the victim and his family. Not only has his eyesight been damaged, but he also continues to suffer with the psychological consequences of the attack and is coming to terms with losing his savings.
"We have already carried out extensive enquiries and are now in a position to release CCTV of four people we would like to speak to. I am asking members of the public to do the right thing and provide any information that can help us track down those responsible."
