UPDATE: Man charged with Newham murder
Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Michael Fadeyibi have charged a man with murder.
Christopher Owens-Wright [B], 22 (21.06.99), of Chatsworth Worth, E15 was charged in the early hours of Wednesday, 11 August. He will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court on the same day.
Police were called at 01:41hrs on Friday, 6 August to reports of a stabbing in Henniker Road, E15. Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found two men with stab injuries.
A 23-year-old man had suffered a stab wound to his neck and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been named as Michael Fadeyibi.
His next of kin are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Saturday, 7 August gave the cause of death as shock, haemorrhage and a stab wound to the neck.
A 19-year-old man [A] was taken to an east London hospital where his condition was assessed as non-life-threatening. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder. He has since been released without further action.
Two men aged 24 [C and D] and a 19-year-old woman [F] were arrested on Sunday, 8 August on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have been bailed pending further enquiries until a date in early September.
