UPDATE: Teenager appears at court charged with terrorism offences

A 17-year-old girl has appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court charged with a terrorism offence today, Wednesday, 26 July.

She was charged with the intention of committing acts of terrorism engaged in conduct in preparation for giving effect the that intention, namely:

i. Communicating with a Daesh fighter in Syria and arranging to receive weapons in order to conduct an attack in the UK
ii. Receiving instructions on how train and use weapons
iii. Reaching out to another to receive assistance in completing plan

contrary to section 5(1)(a) and (3) Terrorism Act 2006.

She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 11 August.

She was also previously charged on 12 April with acts in preparation contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
