Witness appeal following collision in Walworth

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a road traffic collision in Walworth that left a moped rider with serious injuries.

The collision occurred at around 22:55hrs on Sunday, 28 August in Walworth Road at the junction with East Street, SE17.

A car was in collision with a moped.

The rider of the moped, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical but stable condition.

His next of kin are aware.

A 26-year-old man, thought to be the driver of the car, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving. He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in late September.
