An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting in Hackney which left a woman paralysed.
On Tuesday, 5 January, a 40-year-old woman [D], was arrested in Oxford on suspicion of attempted murder in relation to this shooting.
She was interviewed and released on bail whilst enquiries continue. She returns on bail early next month.
Police were called at 20:52hrs on Sunday, 22 November to Westgate Street, E8 following reports of a shooting.
Officers attended with colleagues from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and found a 32-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot injury.
CPR was administered at the scene by officers prior to LAS arrival. She was then taken to an east London hospital. The victim remains hospitalised and has been left paralysed as a result of her injuries.
The victim and her family continue to be supported by a dedicated family liaison officer.
+ On Saturday, 19 December, two men -[B] aged 20 and [C] aged 28 - were both arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They were released under investigation.
On Tuesday, 15 December, a 28-year-old man [A] was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and was also been released under investigation.
