Appeal following fatal collision in Clerkenwell

Police are appealing for witnesses and any road users with dashcam footage following a fatal collision in Clerkenwell.

Officers were called at 20.18hrs on Tuesday, 19 March to reports of a collision involving a lorry and a cyclist on Clerkenwell Road, near the junction with Farringdon Road.

Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service.

A 33-year-old woman was found seriously injured. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she died at the scene.

Her next of kin has been informed.

The lorry, believed to be a refuse vehicle, stopped at the scene and the driver is helping police with their enquiries.

There has been no arrest and enquiries into the circumstances continue.

Road closures were put in place while the scene was dealt with – these were lifted at approximately 05:10hrs on Wednesday, 20 March.
