Appeal for witnesses following collision in Hornchurch

Detectives investigating a serious collision in Hornchurch are appealing for anyone with information or footage to come forward.

Police were called at 14:21hrs on Tuesday 8 October to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle near to Tesco on Airfield Way, Hornchurch.

Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended.

At the scene, the male pedestrian, aged in his 60s, was found with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains receiving treatment.

The man’s next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries. There has been no arrest.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit are asking anyone with dash cam footage, or who witnessed the incident, to make contact via 020 8597 4874 or 101 quoting CAD 4342/08OCT.
