Appeal for witnesses following collision on Lower Road, Belvedere
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a collision which left a pedestrian with serious injuries.
Police were called shortly after 17:55hrs on Sunday, 15 February to reports of a collision between a car and a 73-year-old woman on Lower Road, Belvedere outside the Guru Nanak Darbar Temple.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and the victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. She remains there with potentially life threatening injuries.
The driver of the car, who stopped at the scene, is currently assisting police with enquiries.
Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are leading the investigation. They would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or captured it on dash cam or CCTV.
Detective Sergeant Rob Groombridge, from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we are working to obtain CCTV and other footage that will help us establish the circumstances of what happened.
“We would ask anyone who was in the area at the time to check whether they inadvertently captured anything that could assist our enquiries.
