Appeal for witnesses following death of E-scooter rider in Newham

Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Newham are appealing for anyone with information or footage to come forward.

Police were called at 01:50hrs on Sunday, 5 May to reports of a collision at Woolwich Manor Way, at the junction with Albatross Close, E6.

Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended.

At the scene, an E-scooter rider was found in the road with serious injuries. There were no other vehicles present.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, police and later hospital staff, a 27-year-old man, died in hospital on Tuesday, 14 May.

The man’s next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit are asking anyone with dash cam footage, or who witnessed the incident, to make contact via 020 8597 4874 or 101 quoting reference CAD 736/05May.
