UPDATE: Appeal for witnesses following stabbing in Islington

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a stabbing in Islington.

Police were called at around 14:40hrs on Monday, 11 November to reports of males fighting in the Finsbury Park, N4 area with reports of a male stabbed.

Officers attended the scene close to Finsbury Park Station and found a male with stab wounds.

He was treated by the London Ambulance Service and has been taken to hospital where his condition is being treated as potentially life-changing.

Police have put a cordon in place and are appealing for witnesses.

A male was arrested following the incident and was taken to a north London police station where he remains in custody.

At around 15:00hrs police were called to a north London hospital by staff after two males presented with stab injuries, believed to be linked to the earlier incident near Finsbury Park, N4.

Both males have been arrested. One remains in hospital receiving treatment while the other has been transferred to a nearby police custody.

+ As a result of the incident, increased stop and search powers under Section 60 Criminal Justice & Public Order Act 1994 have been put in place to cover the local area, including both the Finsbury Park and Tollington wards until 03:00hrs on Tuesday, 12 November.
