UPDATE: Death of woman stabbed at Notting Hill Carnival
Detectives have charged three brothers in connection with the murder of Cher Maximen, who was fatally stabbed at Notting Hill Carnival.
Shakiel Thibou, 20 (29.05.04), of Masbro’ Road, Hammersmith and Fulham, was charged on Wednesday, 28 August with attempted murder, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
After 32-year-old Cher sadly died from her injuries on Saturday, 31 August, Thibou’s attempted murder charge was reviewed by the Crown Prosecution Service and changed to murder on Wednesday, 4 September.
This was formally read out at his first Old Bailey appearance on Monday, 9 September. He will next appear at the same court on Thursday, 28 November.
Sheldon Thibou, 24 (23.01.00), of Star Road, Hammersmith and Fulham, was charged on Wednesday, 28 August with violent disorder, possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid and assault by beating of an emergency worker.
Shaeim Thibou, 21 (20.02.03), of Charleville Road, Hammersmith and Fulham, was charged on Wednesday, 28 August with violent disorder and assault by beating of an emergency worker.
They will also next appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 28 November.
All three men have been remanded in custody, and a provisional trial date has been set for 24 February 2025.
Cher was with her young child at Notting Hill Carnival on Sunday, 25 August when she was stabbed in Golborne Road, W10, shortly before 18:00hrs.
Officers gave emergency medical treatment to Cher until the arrival of paramedics. She was transported to hospital in a critical condition but sadly died from her injuries on Saturday, 31 August. Specialist officers are supporting her family.
