Do you know this man? Appeal after woman assaulted in Victoria

Police have released an image of a man they would like to identify in connection with an unprovoked assault on a lone woman.

The incident took place in Terminus Place, SW1 next to Victoria Railway Station at about 02:00hrs on 5 November 2023. The victim, a woman in her early 20s, received significant facial injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 20 and 30 years old, with a large bushy beard. He was wearing a dark grey or green puffer style jacket.

The officer in charge of the case, PC Jasmine Stow, said: "This was a cowardly and unprovoked assault on a young woman at the end of what had been an enjoyable night out. She is still traumatised by the incident.

"I would ask the public to take a good look at the image and anyone who recognises this man is asked to get in touch as a matter of urgency.

"I am also looking to identify a man who attempted to intervene shortly after this incident. This man approached the suspect near to Wilton Road but left the scene prior to police arrival. If this sounds like you please get in touch with police as you may be able to help our investigation.”

There has been no arrest and enquiries continue.
