UPDATE: Man charged in connection with incident in West Ham

A man has been charged with attempted sexual assault by penetration following an alleged incident on Paul Street, West Ham.

At around 22:30hrs on Saturday, 1 June, a member of the public reported that a woman had been found in distress.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was allegedly approached by the stranger while walking home.

Following a fast-paced investigation Cristino Martinez, 40 (29.01.84) of Fabian Street, East Ham was charged with attempted sexual assault by penetration.

He appeared at Stratford Magistrates court earlier today, Friday, 5 July. He has since been remanded in custody to reappear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Saturday, 3 August.
