Four men and one boy charged over Stoke Newington murder

Met detectives investigating a fatal shooting in Hackney in 2025 have charged four men and one boy with a range of offences, including murder.

Erdal Ozmen, aged 45, was killed on Dynevor Road, Hackney in the early hours on Tuesday, 5 August 2025.

The individuals were charged on Thursday, 2 July, having been arrested on Wednesday, 1 July. They will all appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court today.

  • Sebastian Baah Achemfour, 19 (10.07.2006) of Newland Road, Hornsey has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm.
  • Omar Mohammed, 22 (20.11.2003) of Gospatrick Road, Tottenham has been charged with murder, possession of a firearm and perverting the course of justice.
  • Kalel Chen-Miller, 23 (01.07.2008) of Wolseley Road, Wealdstone has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
  • Darian Thompson-Cox, 28 (16.05.1998) of Raleigh Road, Hornsey has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
  • A 16-year-old boy has been charged with perverting the course of justice. He cannot be named due to his age.

On Tuesday, 5 August 2025, police were called at 00:18hrs to reports of gunshots heard on Dynevor Road.

Officers arrived and found a 45-year-old man, who was suffering from gunshot injuries. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder investigation was immediately launched and detectives have been pursuing several lines of enquiry. Erdal’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
