Four plead guilty to Golders Green ambulance arson attack
Four men have pleaded guilty for their role in an arson attack targeting volunteer-led ambulances run by the Jewish community in March.
The following men pleaded guilty to destroying or damaging property being reckless whether life would be endangered at the Old Bailey on Friday, 28 August:
[C] Hamza Iqbal, 20 (28.10.05) from Leyton
[D] Rehan Khan, 19 (11.02.07) from Leyton
[E] Saif Ali, 18(17.06.2008) from Walthamstow
[G] Judex Atshatshi, 18 (24.11.07) from Dagenham
They have all been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on a date yet to be determined, but likely to be in spring 2027.
A fifth man – [H] Subhan Ahmed, 18 (02.03.2008) from Walthamstow – pleaded not guilty in relation to assisting an offender, contrary to section 4 of the Criminal Law Act, 1967. Ahmed has been released on bail with strict conditions. A trial date is yet to be set, but it is anticipated this may take place in January 2027.
The charges are linked to an investigation into an arson attack at approximately 01:35hrs on Monday, 23 March. Four ambulances from Hatzola, a volunteer-led ambulance service operating in the Golders Green area of north London, were set on fire during the incident.
