Images released following incidents at Arsenal Victory Parade
Police are appealing for information following a small number of incidents, which occurred on the day of the Arsenal victory parade in Islington on Sunday, 31 May.
Detectives have released images of people they wish to speak to in relation to these incidents, which included reports of assault and anti-social behaviour.
Officers have already made 29 arrests in relation to criminality on the day of the parade, including several stabbings and assaults. 12 of these have since been charged with various offences, including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, assault on an emergency worker and sexual assault.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Coster, from the Metropolitan Police Service, said: “These incidents occurred on a day when fans should have been able to enjoy celebrations safely with family and friends. Instead, we saw a small number of individuals engage in behaviour that put others at risk.
“More than 500 officers were deployed across the event alongside specialist search and drone teams. Their presence helped ensure the vast majority of supporters were able to enjoy the celebrations safely.
“While the event was largely safe and brought thousands of fans together to celebrate, we did see instances of disorder, anti-social behaviour and some violent incidents.
"We are continuing to carry out enquiries to help progress our investigation and identify those responsible. If you recognise any of the men pictured, or have any information that could assist our investigation, please get in touch with us."
Incidents:
- Image A: During the parade, police received a report of a racially aggravated assault against a woman on Upper Street at around 14:30hrs.
- Image B: Officers responded to a person damaging a car at 15:15hrs on Caledonian Road.
- Image C: A woman was assaulted at 16:30hrs on Highbury Crescent.
- Images D-I: Officers responded to reports of an assault at about 22:31hrs at the Kings Head, Upper Street. Two men sustained serious injuries.
The incidents are not connected.
Detectives have released images of the men they would like to identify and speak to as part of their enquiries.
