Man appears in court charged with murder in Chingford

A man has been charged with murder following a stabbing in Waltham Forest.

Baimolda Beibit, 37 (30.12.86) of Cranston Gardens, E4 was charged on Tuesday, 7 May with murder.

He appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 8 May where he was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 10 May.

This follows police being called to the address in Cranston Gardens at about 21:00hrs on Monday, 6 May following concerns for the welfare of a man inside the address.

A 42-year-old man was found inside the address with knife injuries. He sadly died at the scene. The man has been identified as Oleg Sloboda, a Ukranian national living in Chingford.

Beibit and a 33-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Beibit was charged as above. The 33-year-old woman was released on bail pending further enquiries.
