Man arrested after woman found dead in Dagenham

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Dagenham.

Police were called to an address on Boulton Road on Sunday, 14 June to concerns for the welfare of a woman by the London Ambulance Service Boulton Road.

Inside the property, a 70-year-old woman was sadly declared dead.

A 75-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene. He was taken to hospital, where he remains.

Detective Inspector Mark Waker, who is leading the investigation, said: "We know how concerning this news will be for the local community, and our officers will remain in the area today to provide reassurance.

"Our thoughts remain with the loved ones of the woman who died. Detectives continue to work to establish exactly what has taken place, but at this time believe this was an isolated incident"
