Man charged after officer stabbed in Enfield

A man has been charged in connection with the stabbing of a police officer in Enfield.

James Moore, 30 (15.09.93) of Aldgate High Street, EC3 was charged with the following offences on Wednesday, 17 April:

- Assault - grievous bodily harm (wounding with intent)
- Possession of a bladed article (knife)
- Possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (crack cocaine)
- Possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (heroin)
- Possession of cannabis

Moore appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 18 April and was remanded in custody to next appear at Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday, 15 May.

The charges follow an incident at 16:25hrs on Tuesday, 16 April, when an officer from Enfield was stabbed as he responded to reports of a man with a knife on Mandeville Road.

The injured officer was immediately supported by police colleagues who administered first aid. He was taken to hospital where he remains receiving treatment. His condition is stable.
