Man charged in Covent Garden rape

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the rape of a woman in Covent Garden.

The incident took place in Macklin Street in the early hours of Saturday, 22 August when a woman in her 20s was reportedly attacked.

Christopher Rocha, 22 (18.04.2004) of Kilburn Lane, Westminster was arrested and charged on suspicion of rape and intentional strangulation.

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday, 12 September. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, 9 October.
