Man charged in Hounslow murder investigation

A man has been charged with murder as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of 22-year-old Haruun Hassan in Hounslow.

An investigation was launched on Tuesday, 30 June after officers were called to reports of a stabbing at the junction of Bath Road and Great Southwest Road at 01:47hrs.

Officers attended the scene with the London Ambulance Service to find Haruun, who was local to the area, with serious injuries. Despite the efforts from emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Haruun’s family continue to receive support from specialist officers.

A murder investigation was launched and on Sunday, 5 July a 21-year-old man was arrested in Cardiff in connection.

Awap Halouf, 21 (24.02.2005), of Hambro Road, Lambeth, has since been charged with murder and possession of a blade in a public place. He has been remanded into custody and will appear before Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 7 July.

As part of the investigation, a 21-year-old woman was also arrested in Cardiff on Sunday, 5 July on suspicion of murder. She has been bailed pending further enquiries.
