Man charged with 2018 murder

Detectives investigating the murder of a 23-year-old in 2018 have charged a man.

Matthew Adebiyi, 25 (18.05.00) was extradited from Nigeria to London on Wednesday, 15 April where he was charged with the murder of 23-year-old Joshua Boadu.

Joshua – known as SJ - was stabbed on Linsey Street, Bermondsey, on 11 June 2018. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition with injuries to his chest, neck and arm, and died ten days later.

Adebiyi was remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court later today.

Two others have previously been convicted of SJ’s murder. In September 2019, Denilson Davis (10.07.98), of Hemel Hempstead, and a 16-year-old boy from the Southwark area were convicted at the Old Bailey.
